I am an Associate Professor of Science Education at Pennsylvania State University in the department of Curriculum and Instruction. My research focuses on the design of learning environments that support children's spatial thinking and science practices, with a particular emphasis on embodied design and the use of narrative. My background is in astronomy so much of my research considers learning in that domain. I teach science methods and astronomy courses for preservice elementary teachers as well as graduate courses in the learning sciences and curricula.
